Alongside my basketmaking workshops, I continue to weave traditional baskets and unique willow creations from my workshop in Leitrim. Each piece is handmade using naturally grown sally rods, the traditional material used in Irish basketmaking for generations.
I make a range of pieces, from practical household baskets to decorative and more unusual creations. I also take on individual commissions, so if there is something particular you would like made, please get in touch.
I also supply willow craft kits, simple, fun projects that come with dried or pre-soaked willow, so that you can have a go at willow weaving at home. They are suitable for beginners and for anyone who enjoys making things by hand.
I grow a wide range of willow varieties here in Leitrim, giving me beautiful natural colours and textures to work with. Because willow is a natural material, each piece will vary slightly in colour, shape and size, making every basket unique.
I try to make good use of every part of the willow I grow and harvest. My basketmaking offcuts are used to produce Ireland’s first commercially available natural willow charcoal for artists, and I also use recycled and repurposed materials wherever I can when packaging my work.
